MacDonald Wins Parts for Trucks 100

SHEDIAC, NB (July 15, 2006) - Rollie MacDonald of Pictou, NS won the PARTS FOR TRUCKS 100 for the CARQUEST Pro Stock Tour at Centre for Speed, near Shediac, NB on Saturday night - for the second year in a row.

MacDonald took the lead on lap 69 from Gordie Ryan of Wellington, NS. Ryan held on for second, ahead of Mike MacKenzie of Dartmouth, NS. Wayne Smith of Halifax, NS and Kent Vincent of Crapaud, PE rounded out the top five.

Defending Series Champion MacDonald becomes the fourth different winner in five feature races this season.

Ryan won the Fast Track RV Sales Halfway Award. John Flemming of Halifax, NS led the first 46 laps to win the Atlantic Tiltload Most Laps Led Award. Only three cautions slowed the event.

MacDonald and Brad Mann of Campbellton, NB won the Motor Mart heat races. Flemming won the Motor Mart Dash for the Pole, featuring the top 10 finishers in Time Trials. MacKenzie of Dartmouth, NS had the fastest time on the 3/8 mile oval, at an average speed of 82.462 miles per hour.

For the third time in five races this year Wayne Smith accepted the Pole Challenge and came from a 25th-place start to finish a strong fifth-place - earning the Oval Outlaw a $200 bonus as well as 10 bonus championship points.

Twenty nine of the Maritimes top drivers attempted to qualify for the Main Feature. The final qualifying positions for the main event were determined by the Urquhart MacDonald Associates B-Feature. Stephen Brown won the event over fellow Halifax, NS campaigner Dan MacKay. Cy Harvey of Elmsdale, NS rounded out the top three.
