VINCENT WINS THE PARTS FOR TRUCKS 100 AT RIVERSIDE SPEEDWAY

 

James River, NS (August 4, 2007) - Kent Vincent of Crapaud, PEI won the PARTS FOR TRUCKS 100 for the CARQUEST Pro Stock Tour at Riverside Speedway, near Antigonish, NS on Saturday night. Vincent took the lead on lap 72 for the fourth time and never looked back to take his first win of the season and second career victory. Shawn Turple of Enfield, N.S. finished second, ahead of New Glasgow's (N.S.) George Koszkulics. Pictou's (N.S) Rollie MacDonald and Bobby White Of Kennetcook, N.S. rounded out the top five.

Vincent won both Halfway award and the Most Laps Led Award. Over 3500 fans saw seven cautions slow the event, which took one hour to complete.

Dale Holmes of West Covehead, PE and White won heat races. Wayne Smith won the Dash for the Pole, featuring the top eight finishers in the Atlantic Tiltload Time Trials. MacDonald had the fastest time on the 1/3 mile oval, at an average speed of nearly 94 miles per hour. Smith, of Timberlea, NS took the Marinus Verhagen Enterprises Pole Challenge and came back to finish fifteenth.

Twenty seven of the Maritimes top drivers attempted to qualify for the Main Feature. The Urquart MacDonald Associates "B" Feature determined the final qualifying positions for the main event. Stacey Clements of Five Island Lake, NS won the event over Dana Duncan of Saint John, NB and Darryl Mahar of Hubley, NS.
