CARQUEST Pro Stock Tour Heads to Scenic PEI for Lucas Oil 100
(Halifax, NS, June 16, 2009) The CARQUEST Pro Stock Tour is getting set for the Lucas Oil 100, race 3 of twelve this Saturday, June 20th at Raceway Park in beautiful Prince Edward Island. This is one of only two visits to the Island for the Tour this season. The Tour has a strong roster of full-time drivers who reside on the Island and all of them will be looking to take the checkers at their home track.
Approximately 30 drivers will attempt to qualify for the Lucas Oil 100 at the ¼ mile oval, located in Oyster Bed Bridge. Atlantic Tiltload Time Trials will begin at 5:10pm, with the green flag set to fall at 6:00pm. Saturday's event will also feature; Street Stocks, Modifieds and Hobby Stocks. Gates open at 3:00pm and tickets will be available at the venue on race day.
Two weeks ago Shawn Tucker of Fredericton NB dominated at Riverside International Speedway, with 13 Island racers expected to qualify for Saturday's feature fans can expect the PEI teams to go hard after the win in front of their hometown fans. Kent Vincent of Westmoreland and Greg Proude of Springvale will be two drivers to watch, however they will have to beat Lonnie Sommerville of Saint John NB and Shawn Turple of Enfield NS, who are currently tied for the points lead in the chase for the '09 championship.
