Ron MacGillivray Chevrolet 100 Set to Hit the High Banks of Riverside

(Halifax, NS, June 3, 2009) Riverside International Speedway will open its 40th season of racing when it hosts the CARQUEST Pro Stock Tour on Saturday, June 6th. The Ron MacGillivray Chevrolet 100 is the second race of 12 for the regional touring series. Atlantic Tiltload Time Trials for the Pro Stocks will begin at 5:10pm, with the green flag set to drop at approximately 6:00pm.

Over 30 drivers will attempt to qualify at the 1/3 mile, high banked oval, located in James River, NS. Only 26 of those teams will have the opportunity to vie for the checkered flag in the 100 lap feature. Expected entries include; 2008 Ron MacGillivray Chevrolet 100 winner Shawn Tucker of Fredericton NB, 2008 CARQUEST Pro Stock Tour Champion Wayne Smith and Prince Edward Island's Kent Vincent, who set a new track record at Riverside last season during time trials with a blistering speed of over 100 miles per hour.

The June 6th event will also feature the Highland Building Supplies Sportsman Series, who will race a 50 lap feature prior to the Ron MacGillivray Chevrolet 100.

Advance tickets for the Ron MacGillivray Chevrolet 100 are now available through Riverside's in-house box office ticket system. Reserved seats are $30.00 for adults, $12 for youth 16 and under; general admission seating is $25 for adults, $8 for youth. Admission for children 6 and under is free.
