Victory is Sweet for Vincent at the IWK 250 Presented By Steve Lewis Auto Body



(James River, NS, July 17, 2010) – Kent Vincent of Crapaud PE took home over $10,000 as he returned to victory lane at Riverside International Speedway in his Vector Aerospace / H&P Glover Dodge Charger on Saturday night. Last season’s winner of the event, Wayne Smith of Timberlea NS, finished second in his Jetco Contracting / ICI Paints Chevy. Fredericton’s Shawn Tucker, in his Rockico Truck & Trailer/AL Gullison Disaster Kleen-Up Impala battled hard in the end to try to take the victory but came over the line in third. Jonathan Hicken of Brudenell PE took his Castle Building Centre Chevy to a fourth place finish and Chris Hughes of Brackley Beach PE rounded out the top five in his Pauley Equipment Toyota Camry.

Shawn Tucker would also pocket the Scotia Emergency Vehicle Services Most Laps Led Award and Wayne Smith beat the stellar field to the stripe on lap 125 earning him the Ledwidge Lumber Halfway Award. The EIT Race Radios Rookie of the Race was Jerome Kehoe who came home in 8th place.

Qualifying kicked off the day’s events with Donald Chisholm in his #89 Keltic Ford / Nova Construction Ford setting the pace in the Atlantic Tiltload Time Trials, laying down a lap of 14.397 seconds around the 1/3 mile high banked oval. Donald Chisholm also won the Dartmouth Dodge Dash for the Pole, featuring the fastest ten drivers from the Time Trial event. Wayne Smith took home the victory in heat race number one in his Jetco Contracting / ICI Paints Chevy. Kent Vincent won heat race number two in his Vector Aerospace, H&P Glover Charger. Mike MacKenzie of Halifax took home the checkers in the final heat race in his #75 Chebucto Ford/ R&R Kinsmans Chevy. Final starting positions for the IWK 250 were decided by a 15 lap semi, won by #80 Roger Miller in his Harvey Racing Chevy Monte Carlo. All 31 drivers who attempted to qualify made the main feature.

The next event for the CARQUEST Pro Stock Tour is the Parts for Trucks 100, July 24th at Speedway 660 in Fredericton NB.
