Cassius Clark To Challenge At Atlantic CAT 250

(Brudenell, PE, July 26, 2010) Farmington, ME native Cassius Clark will challenge the CARQUEST Pro Stock Tour regulars at the Atlantic Cat 250 at Scotia Speedworld on Aug 6th and 7th.

Clark will be traveling light when he heads to Nova Scotia for the Cat 250, packing his helmet, driver’s suite, gloves, shoes, but no car. He will pilot the # 5 Chapman Brothers Construction Chevrolet Impala of Jonathan Hicken, who is the best man for a lifelong friend’s wedding that weekend and Clark volunteered to run the car for Jonathan.

How does Clark, from a small town outside of Augusta, ME, connect with Hicken who lives on the eastern end of PE? Through North Carolina of course! Jonathan’s brother Andrew, who race fans will remember as the crew chief for his uncle, Dale Holmes, works in the Jeff Fultz race shop in Mooresville, NC. Clark, a PASS North and South competitor works out of the Fultz shop when competing in the south and became good friends with Andrew. One conversation led to another, with the result being the ride being offered and accepted. So it’s Jonathan off to the church and Cassius heading to the Atlantic Cat 250.

It appears to be the summer of weddings for the Hicken family. Andrew has been home for two weeks vacation and hasn’t been seen at the track. He’s had two life long friends being married on the two weekends he’s been home.

Clark has experience at Scotia Speedworld, having raced both the Forbes 150 and Atlantic Cat 250 numerous times and expects to be strong in Hicken’s car. Hicken picked-up his first Tour win of his career at Oyster Bed Speedway on June 27th and sits fourth in points heading into the this weekend’s CARQUEST Pro Stock action, so the car has been good in 2010. Putting the two together, experienced driver and good car, adds up to a contender for the win and a solid chance to take home the Scott Fraser Memorial Trophy. Clark was always a fan favourite at Scotia Speedworld and looks forward to racing the # 5 Chapman brothers Construction car at the Atlantic Cat 250 and renewing old friendships.
