Turple Dominates All 100 Laps of Lockhart Truck Center 100


(Halifax, NS, July 3, 2010) – Shawn Turple of Enfield, NS, returned to Scotia Speedworld’s victory lane after leading all 100 laps of the Lockhart Truck Center 100 in his Dexter Construction/Municipal Group Imapala on Saturday night. Fredericton’s Shawn Tucker, in his Rockico Truck & Trailer/AL Gullison Impala, battled hard in the end to try to take the victory from Turple, but came over the line 0.305 seconds after the 2009 CARQUEST Pro Stock Tour Champion. Mike MacKenzie (Dartmouth, NS) also got up on his R&R Kinsmans/Chebucto Ford Fusion for the last ten laps weaving through the top ten to finally end up in the final podium spot. Donald Chisholm of Antigonish, NS in his Nova Construction Ford Fusion and Kent Vincent (Crapaud, PE) in his Vector Aerospace/H&P Glover Dodge Charger rounded out the top five.

Turple would also pocket the Scotia Emergency Vehicle Services Most Laps Led Award after leading the entire race as well as the Ledwidge Lumber Halfway Award. The EIT Race Radios Rookie of the Race was Jerome Kehoe who came home in 13th place.

Qualifying kicked off the evening’s events with Daryl Mahar setting the pace in the Atlantic Tiltload Time Trials, laying down a lap of 14.409 seconds at 74.953 mph around the 3/10 mile D-oval. Donald Chisholm won the Dartmouth Dodge Dash for the Pole, featuring the fastest ten drivers from the Time Trial event. MacKenzie and Riverview, NB’s Mike Stevens collected Dartmouth Dodge Heat Race victories All 24 drivers who attempted to qualify raced in the Lockhart Truck Center 100.

The next event for the CARQUEST Pro Stock Tour is the IWK 250 presented by Steve Lewis Auto Body at Riverside International Speedway in beautiful Antigonish, NS.
