TUCKER TRIUMPHANT AT
PARTS FOR TRUCKS 100
(Fredericton, NB. July, 9 2011) – Fredericton’s Shawn Tucker recorded a home track victory Saturday night as he guided his #52 AL Gullison Disaster Kleenup Chevrolet Impala to the win in the Parts For Trucks 100 at Speedway 660. Tucker started 9th in the 22 car field and made the winning move on former Speedway 660 Pro Stock champion Greg Fahey (St. Stephen) on lap 85. Fahey held on for second place while Darren MacKinnon (Charlottetown, PE) edged out Dave O’Blenis (Boundary Creek) for the third spot. Completing the top five was Wayne Smith (Timberlea, NS).
Fahey picked up the King Freight Lines Halfway and the Linde Most Laps Led Awards. Tucker picked up 8 spots to pocket the Vortex Brake Pads Hard Charger Award. The Parts for Trucks 100 featured five cautions and took 56 minutes to complete. Fahey started the day by winning the Atlantic Tiltload Time Trials by lapping Speedway 660’s 1/3-mile configuration in 13.745 seconds and continued his winning ways in the Fast Eddie Racewear Dash for Cash. Dartmouth Dodge Heat Races were won by Marty Prevost (Fall River, NS) and Mike Stevens of Salisbury. The Parts for Trucks 100 victory was the second on the season for Tucker, becoming the only driver on the Parts for Trucks Pro Stock Tour this season to win multiple features to this point.
The next event for the Parts for Trucks Pro Stock Tour is the IWK 250 presented by Steve Lewis Auto Body on Saturday, July 23rd , at Riverside International Speedway.
