(Halifax, NS, July 19, 2011) The Parts for Trucks Pro Stock Tour will make its second visit this season to Riverside International Speedway on Saturday July 23rd, for the 5th annual IWK 250 presented by Steve Lewis Auto Body. The prestigious extended distance event will attract 10,000 plus fans and 30 of the most talented stock car drivers from Canada and abroad, including NASCAR Sprint Cup Series competitor Marcos Ambrose, hailing from Tasmania, Australia . Drivers will definitely have their game face on as they will be competing for valuable championship points, the illustrious title of IWK 250 Champion as well as for their piece of the $80,000.00+ purse posted for the event!

Qualifying at the 1/3 mile, high banked oval, located in James River, NS, will start at 3:30 p.m. with the Atlantic Tiltload Time Trials. Fans will then have an opportunity to get up close and personal with the stars of the Parts for Trucks Pro Stock Tour at the on track meet and greet taking place at 5:30 p.m. Fans will also be treated to a pre race concert featuring Regal Beagle. Main Gates open at 12:00 noon on Saturday, with the green flag slated for the IWK 250 main feature at 7:30 p.m.

Two former IWK 250 winners will be in the field for the 2011 edition of the event: Wayne Smith (Timberlea, NS) and Kent Vincent (Crapaud, PE). Both will vie to become the first repeat winner of the modern era IWK 250. There have been four different winners in the last four years: 2007 - Mike Rowe (Turner, ME); 2008 - Regan Smith (Cato, NY); 2009 - Wayne Smith; and, 2010 - Kent Vincent. Donald Chisholm (Antigonish, NS) is someone Smith and Vincent will have to beat to repeat, Chisholm is on a roll at Riverside having visited victory lane in the last two pro stock events at the track (August 2010 and June 2011). Chisholm is looking for a hat trick in the IWK 250 with a third consecutive checkered flag at his home track. Besides the two straight wins Chisholm has the best average finish (4.2) of any driver in the last five Parts for Trucks Pro Stock Tour (PST) sanctioned races at Riverside.

The 2011 edition of the IWK 250 presented by Steve Lewis Auto Body will also make Canadian motorsports history as the first-ever short track stock car race in Canada to be broadcast live on national radio, to an international audience in Canada and the United States. Live flag-to-flag coverage of the event will be available on Sirius Satellite Radio Channel 158/ The Score.
