EXIDE TO SPONSOR HIGH VOLTAGE ROOKIE OF THE YEAR BATTLE
(Halifax, NS. April 12, 2012) The Parts for Trucks Pro Stock Tour (PST) is pleased to announce a partnership that will see Exide Batteries sponsor the Rookie of the Year Award in 2012. The Rookie of the Year Award is one of the most coveted titles on the Tour and has a previous champions list which includes Geoff Boyle, Ian Mollins, Dale Holmes, Shawn Turple, Russell Smith Sr., Lonnie Sommerville, Craig Slaunwhite, Josh Jaillet and Jerome Kehoe. Holmes, Sommerville and Slaunwhite have gone on to win races in the series while Turple, a multiple time feature winner won the overall championship in 2009 to follow up his Rookie of the Year title in 2005.

Oyster Bed Speedway Street Stock fan favorite Tom Nicholls (Sherwood, PE), 2009 Sportsman Tour champion Frankie Fraser (Shubenacadie, NS), ’11 Tri-County Motor Speedway (NC) champion Brad Eddy (Lower Sackville, NS) and former, Speedway 660 Pro Stocker Steve Halpin (Saint John, NB) along with former PEI Modified Champions Terry Dougay (Albany, PE) and Dylan Gosbee (Cornwall, PE) have submitted their intentions to contend for the title this season.
