ADVANCE RENTALS TO PRESENT
AUGUST ISLAND 150

(Halifax, NS – May 10, 2012) The Parts for Trucks Pro Stock Tour (PST) is proud to announce a partnership with Advance Rentals of Prince Edward Island who will present the Advance Rentals 150 at Oyster Bed Speedway on Saturday, August 4th. The race is round eight of 12 on the 2012 schedule and the second of two stops on Prince Edward Island for the popular Maritime stock car touring series.


Advance Rentals is a division of Curran and Briggs Limited and has two locations on Prince Edward Island (Summerside and Bloomfield). Advance Rentals have the largest inventory of hydraulic and hose fittings on the Island and also offer a full range of rental tools, welding and safety equipment. John Flemming (Halifax, NS) won this race in 2011, breaking a six year winless streak.  Flemming will look to defend his title at the Advance Rentals 100 in 2012. Flemmings’ victory last season gives him two wins in this event (2002, 2011). Wayne Smith (Timberlea, NS) has won this event four times (2001, 2007, 2008, 2010). Other drivers who have taken the checkers in this event include: Gordie Ryan (Wellington, NS) in 2003, Kent Vincent (Crapaud, PE) in 2004, Dale Holmes (West Covehead, PE) in 2005, Brad Mann (Glen Levit, NB) in 2006 and Greg Proude (Springvale, PE) crossed the finish line first to take the win at his home track in 2009. The Advance Rentals 150 will play a pivotal role in crowning a 2012 Champion on the Parts for Trucks Pro Stock Tour. Thrice has the eventual Series Champion won this event (2001, 2002 and 2008)
