PARTS FOR TRUCKS PRO STOCK TOUR HIGHLITES RIVER GLADE INTERNATIONAL WEEKEND

(Halifax, NS, August 13, 2014) The Parts for Trucks Pro Stock Tour is heading to the high banks of Riverside International Speedway this Friday for the Ron MacGillivray Chev Buick GMC 150.  This event was originally scheduled for June 14th but was postponed due to rain. The Ron MacGillivray 150 will mark race nine of 12 for the 2014 season of the Parts for Trucks Pro Stock Tour. Grandstand gates for the Ron MacGillivray Chev Buick GMC 150 open at 3:00 PM; Atlantic Tiltload Time Trials will get underway at 6:20 PM with racing slated for 7:00 PM.

Hometown favourites Donald Chisholm (Antigonish, NS) and George Koszkulics (New Glasgow, NS) will both be drivers to watch on Friday. Chisholm won the Ron MacGillivray Chev Buick GMC 150 last season and in 2011. Chisholm has four wins to his name at his home track. Koszkulics knows how to get around the 1/3 mile high banked oval and snapped a long winless streak at Riverside at the end of the 2011 season.

NACSCAR Canadian Tires Series driver Jason Hathaway (Appin, ON) will also be in the field on Friday as a team mate to Chisholm and Koszkulics piloting the No. 3 car out of the Nova Racing shop. This will be Hathaway’s second career start with the Parts for Trucks Pro Stock Tour. Hathaway currently sits fourth in the NASCAR Canadian Tire Series point standings.

Dylan Blenkhorn (Truro, NS) picked up the biggest win of his career last Saturday night at the Atlantic Cat 250 and his third victory of the season. Those three wins have Blenkhorn in third position in the championship point standings, but with a lot of ground to make up on John Flemming (Halifax, NS) and Shawn Tucker (Fredericton, NB) who currently sit first and second respectively. Jonathan Hicken (Brudenell, PE) and Shawn Turple (Enfield, NS) hold down positions four and five heading into the Friday night event.

New for the Ron MacGillivray 150 is the Bonus Dash. The final three cars from each Dartmouth Dodge Heat Race will qualify for the 10-lap Bonus Dash. The six cars will race for a cash bonus awarded to the top three finishers.

Opening the Ron MacGillivray Chev Buick GMC 150 is the Napa Sportsman Series who will run the Highland Home Building Centers 100 – this race has a posted one hour time limit.
