PRO STOCK TOUR ROLLS TO RIVERSIDE FOR PENULTIMATE LUCAS OIL 150
(Halifax, NS, September 3, 2014) The Parts for Trucks Pro Stock Tour will make its third and final visit of the season
to Riverside International this Saturday for the Lucas Oil 150. The high banks of Riverside’s 1/3 mile oval will play
host to race 11 of 12 for the high-octane touring series. The event will also mark the third and final Lucas Oil
presented race of the season. With local heroes and championship contenders all expected in the field on Saturday,
action in the Lucas Oil 150 is sure to be intense. Atlantic Tiltload Time Trials get underway at 5:10pm, with racing
slated for 6:00pm.
With only two races remaining on the 2014 schedule the chase for the Parts for Trucks Pro Stock Tour Championship
is quickly coming to a close. Four-time series champ John Flemming (Halifax, NS) holds a 28 point lead over fellow
three-time series champion Shawn Tucker (Fredericton, NB). Tucker has just a slim 12 point lead over Jonathan
Hicken (Brudenell, PE) who currently sits in third. With two races remaining and a maximum of a 60 point gain per
race the championship chase is far from over.
Also still in championship contention are the top two Exide Batteries Rookies from 2013, Dylan Blenkhorn (Truro,
NS) and Cole Butcher (Porter’s Lake, NS) who sit in fourth and fifth respectively with just one point between them.
Blenkhorn is 71 points behind leader Flemming, but with the 60 point swing and trouble for any of the leaders these
two could find themselves in the hunt at the Season Finale Dartmouth Dodge 200 at Scotia Speedworld on
September 13th.
Hot on these sophomores’ heels and looking to improve their year-end standings are Shawn Turple (Enfield, NS) and
Greg Proude who currently hold the sixth and seventh positions. Turple is just five points ahead of Proude and 12
points behind third place Hicken. Turple is a two-time champion of the series and Proude is looking for his first
championship. Mathematically they are both still in contention heading into Saturday’s Lucas Oil 150.
The Napa Sportsman Series will kick off the show with the Highland Home Building Centers 75 lap feature prior to
the Lucas Oil 150.
