BUTCHER RETURNS TO VICTORY LANE IN CUMMINS 100 AT SPEEDWAY 660
(Fredericton, NB, July 4, 2015) Cole Butcher (Porter’s Lake, NS) took the lead on Lap 42 from Dylan Blenkhorn (Truro, NS) and drove to his second career Parts for Trucks Pro Stock Tour victory in three races. The Cummins 100 saw only one lead change, but had three major players up front - Butcher and eventual second and third place finishers Blenkhorn and Darren MacKinnon (Charlottetown, PE). Fourth place belonged to Donald Chisholm (Antigonish, NS) with John Flemming (Halifax, NS) finishing the Cummins 100 in fifth place.
Qualifying efforts for the Cummins 100 saw Springvale, PE’s Greg Proude lay down a Fast Time of 13.717 seconds in Atlantic Tiltload Time Trials. After the King Freight Dash for Cash, it was Blenkhorn who won the right to start the Main Feature at the head of the field.
The remainder of the field was determined through Dartmouth Dodge Heat Races which saw Dylan Gosbee (Cornwall, PE) and Chisholm take checkered flags. DJ Casey (Prospect, NS) won the Exide Batteries Rookie of the Race with a 9th place finish in the Cummins 100. The Cummins 100 was a fast paced affair, featuring three caution flags and a 68 lap green flag run to the finish.
The Parts for Trucks Pro Stock Tour is off next weekend as the drivers and teams prepare for the IWK 250 presented by Steve Lewis Auto Body happening the following Saturday, July 18 at Riverside International Speedway. Tickets are available to purchase now at www.riversidespeedway.ca.
