Blenkhorn Returns to Victory Lane in Lucas Oil 100 at Oyster Bed Speedway

(Charlottetown, PE - July 30, 2016) –Dylan Blenkhorn (Truro, NS) extended his point lead on the Parts for Trucks Pro Stock Tour Saturday night at Oyster Bed Speedway by winning the Lucas Oil 100. Blenkhorn took the lead from pole sitter Dylan Gosbee (Cornwall, PE) on Lap 23 and held the point to the end of the eighth round of the series. Cole Butcher (Porter’s Lake, NS) challenged Blenkhorn over the last half of the race but wound up second to the #67 Quinn Flooring Chevrolet. Gosbee completed the podium in third place with Cassius Clark (Farmington, ME) and Shawn Turple (Enfield, NS) rounding out the top five.

Gosbee, Blenkhorn and Donald Chisholm (Antigonish, NS) won Atlantic Tiltload Heat Races to set the field for the Lucas Oil 100. Blenkhorn led 79 laps to collect the Linde Most Laps Led Award. Harry Ross White (Noel Road, NS) finished 13th to take home the Exide Batteries Rookie of the Race Award. DJ Casey (Prospect, NS) drove from 16th to seventh place to take the King Freight Future Winners Award.

Kenny Snow (Oyster Bed Bridge, PE) won the Street Stock 50 while Cory Hall (Jolicure, NB) was in victory lane for the second consecutive year in the Upper Clements Parks Maritime League of Legends Tour.

The Series takes a break next weekend but the stars of the Parts for Trucks Pro Stock Tour return to Scotia Speedworld for 250 grueling laps of fender to fender racing in the Atlantic CAT 250 on August 13th. Canada’s best stock car drivers will be striving for victory and their piece of the $60,000 posted purse.

Wednesday evening, August 10th join us at the Atlantic Cat Head Office on Ilsley Avenue in Burnside for the third Annual Atlantic Cat 250 Driver Meet & Greet. Many stars of the Series will be on hand as well some of the cast from History Channel’s The Curse of Oak Island! Bring your appetite as there will also be a BBQ with all proceeds going to the Make A Wish Foundation. This event is free and open to the public – EVERYONE IS WELCOME
