BLENKHORN GETS SECOND VICTORY OF THE SEASON AT PETTY RACEWAY

 

(Moncton, NB, June 25, 2016) – Dylan Blenkhorn of Truro, Nova Scotia brought home his second win of the Parts for Trucks Pro Stock Tour season by taking the checkered flag at Petty International Raceway Saturday night. Blenkhorn inherited the lead from Craig Slaunwhite (Terence Bay, NS) on lap 87 and battled with Cassius Clark (Farmington, ME) for the lead in a wild finish to the race. Cole Butcher (Porter’s Lake, NS) edged out Clark for the second spot at the finish with the #13 car coming home in third. Prince Edward Island drivers Jonathan Hicken (Brudenell) and Darren MacKinnon (Charlottetown) completed the top five.

Atlantic Tiltload Qualifying started off the exciting night of racing and saw Shawn Turple (Enfield, NS), Donald Chisholm (Antigonish, NS), and Clark take the top spots in their respective Heat Races. Slaunwhite led a majority of the laps to take home the Linde Most Laps Led Award. Jarrett Butcher (Porter’s Lake, NS) was the recipient of the King Freight Lines Future Winners Award with a ninth place finish, followed by Marshfield, PE’s Nevin Scott in 10th to gain the Exide Batteries Rookie of the Race Award.

Austin MacDonald (Pictou, NS – Bandolero), Tim Webster (Beaver Bank, NS – Mini Stock) and Craig Ward (Riverview, NB – Street Stock) took home support class victories prior to the Petty 100. Complete results for the three Petty house divisions can be found when official at PettyRaceway.com.

The Parts for Trucks Pro Stock Tour is back in New Brunswick next weekend for the Cummins 100 on Saturday July, 2nd at Speedway 660 located in Geary, just outside of Fredericton. Tickets will be available at the gates on race day. Visit www.maritimeprostocktour.com for all event information.
