DEVASTATING FIRE AT FLEMMING MOTORSPORTS RACE SHOP

A fire overnight on March 21st at the Flemming Motorsports race shop has resulted in the loss of two of the team’s race cars and gear. There were no injuries in the fire.

While the cause of the fire is unknown, DJ Casey confirmed the fire at the shop on his Casey Racing Facebook page on Monday. Their shop, race gear and tools were lost in the fire, along with two cars – John Flemming’s Port City car he ran last year on the Parts for Trucks Pro Stock Tour and the team’s NASCAR Pinty’s Series car. The team also lost many spare parts including spare motors. Team member and 2011 Scotia Speedworld Truck champion JP Arsenault's Sportsman car was also lost in the fire.

Casey is slated to take over the #97 car from five time Parts for Trucks Pro Stock Tour champion John Flemming in 2016. Flemming is scaling back to a part-time schedule after winning five championships with the series, the most recent of which came in 2014.

There has been a GoFundMe account set up for those wanting to donate towards helping Flemming Motorsports rebuild for the upcoming season. Click here for the GoFundMe page.
