Clark Takes First Victory of
2016 Season At Lucas Oil 100

(Halifax, NS, May 21, 2016) Cassius Clark (Farmington, ME) first took the lead on the third circuit of the Lucas Oil 100 and led all but two laps from that point on to take the win in the first Parts for Trucks Pro Stock Tour feature of the season. Clark battled with Craig Slaunwhite (Terence Bay, NS) just past the halfway point in the feature but flexed his muscle in the #13 King Competition Fabrication and Parts Chevrolet to pull away in the final 23 green laps to the checkered flag. Greg Proude (Springvale, PE) wound up in second place with Slaunwhite taking third. Fourth place belonged to Darren MacKinnon (Charlottetown, PE) with defending series champion Donald Chisholm (Antigonish, NS) wrapping up the Lucas Oil 100 in fifth.

The new qualifying procedures for the 2016 season saw Dylan Blenkhorn (Truro, NS), MacKinnon, Proude, and Clark as the Atlantic Tiltload Heat Race winners. Clark captured the Linde Most Laps Led Award while DJ Casey (Prospect, NS) nabbed the King Freight Future Winner Award. Nicholas Naugle (Dartmouth, NS) was the top Exide Batteries Rookie of the Year contender in the race with a 13th place finish.

The Parts for Trucks Pro Stock Tour rolls to Riverside International Speedway for the Ron MacGillivray Chev Buick GMC 150 on Saturday, June 11th - round two of the 2016 season. Tickets for the Ron MacGillivray 150 are on sale now at www.riversidespeedway.ca.
