CHISHOLM DRIVES TO LUCAS OIL 150
VICTORY AT HOME TRACK
(Antigonish, NS - September 10, 2016) –Donald Chisholm (Antigonish, NS) captured his second win of the Parts for Trucks Pro Stock Tour season by winning the Lucas Oil 150 at Riverside International Speedway on Saturday. Chisholm led a race high 121 laps en route to the victory. The defending series champion battled late with current point leader Cole Butcher (Porter’s Lake, NS) to pocket the win. Butcher was second and was joined on the podium by Greg Proude (Springvale, PE). The 2005 Parts for Trucks Pro Stock Tour champion Rollie MacDonald (Pictou, NS) returned to the driver’s seat and rallied from a lap down to finish fourth with two-time series titlist Shawn Turple (Enfield, NS) completing the top five.
Atlantic Tiltload Qualifying set the grid for the Lucas Oil 150. Butcher (Porter’s Lake, NS) earned the pole position after winning heat race one. Craig Slaunwhite (Terence Bay, NS) and Chisholm also won their heat races respectively. Slaunwhite who entered the race second in championship points had a mechanical issue on lap 117 which forced the team to pit and resulted in a 16th place finish. Steve Ross (Waverley, NS) finished ninth to take home the King Freight Future Winners Award while Harry Ross White (Noel Road, NS) moved one step closer to the season long Exide Batteries Rookie of the Year Award by being the top freshman at the Lucas Oil 150 with a tenth place run.
The Napa Sportsman Series kicked off the show with the Highland Home Building Centers 75 prior to the Lucas Oil 150. Colby Smith (Cape Sable Island, NS) came home first, Shawn Waterfield (Sydney, NS) and Waylon Farrell (Conception Bay South, NL) rounded out the podium.
Prior to feature racing an altercation occurred in the pits which resulted in Dylan Blenkhorn (Truro, NS) and George Koszkulics (New Glasgow, NS) being parked for the evening as per rule 5.7 in Maritime Pro Stock Tour procedures.
The Parts for Trucks Pro Stock Tour will close out the season next Saturday at Scotia Speedworld. The Dartmouth Dodge 200 will decide who takes home the prestigious championship and the $10,000 cheque! Don’t miss the Dartmouth Dodge 200 next Saturday, September 17 at 4:00 PM.
