Proude Defends Home Turf at
Lucas Oil 150 Saturday Night
at Oyster Bed Speedway
(Oyster Bed Bridge, PE, Aug 5, 2017) – Greg Proude (Springvale, PE) took the lead on the opening lap of the Lucas Oil 150 for the Parts for Trucks Pro Stock Tour at Oyster Bed Speedway and remained there most of the night for his first win of the 2017 season. Proude led 122 of the 150 laps in the race to take home the Linde Most Laps Led Award, finishing ahead of Shawn Turple (Enfield, NS), Dylan Blenkhorn (Truro, NS) and Cole Butcher (Porter’s Lake, NS) in a close finish at the checkered flag. Craig Slaunwhite (Terence Bay, NS) rounded out the top five, edging Kent Vincent (Crapaud, PE) for the top five finish.
Gosbee, Proude, and Blenkhorn won Atlantic Tiltload Heat Races to set the field for the Lucas Oil 150. Robbie MacEwen (Sherwood, PE) was seventh in the Lucas Oil 150 to take home the Exide Batteries Rookie of the Race and King Freight Future Winners Awards in front of a capacity crowd.
Nick Chiasson (Milton, PE) won the Central Engine Services Street Stock 50 while Shelby Baker (Fall River, NS) was in victory lane for the in the Maritime League of Legends Tour.
Race fans have lots of great events to look forward as part of the upcoming Atlantic Cat 250 celebrations. On Wednesday, August 9th from 6-8PM fans can get up close and personal with the stars of the Parts for Trucks Pro Stock Tour and The CARSTAR Weekly Racing Series. The FREE event is being hosted at Atlantic Cat located at 175 Akerley Blvd, in the Burnside Industrial Park. This is a FREE event and is open to the public – EVERYONE is welcome!
Thursday, August 10th from 4-10PM Scotia Speedworld is hosting their First Annual Food Truck Rally and Show & Shine. The inaugural event will feature nine popular food trucks, antique car show & shine, beer garden, live DJ, and FanZone! Tickets for the First Annual Food Truck Rally and Show & Shine are $5.00, CAT 250 weekend pass holders will get in for free!
Saturday, August 12th at 5:00pm the cars and starts of the Parts for Trucks Pro Stock Tour return to Halifax for the 18th edition of the prestigious Atlantic Cat 250. Don’t miss a minute of this high-horsepower experience as teams battle for their piece of the $60,000 purse and contingency funds and the opportunity to engrave their name on the Scott Fraser Memorial Cup. Tickets for the Atlantic Cat 250 are $35.00 for adults, youth (8-15yrs) $10.00, children 7 and under are free! Pit admission for those 18+ is $40.00.
Weekend passes for the Affordable Fuels Sportsman 150 and the 18th Annual Atlantic Cat 250 are $40.00 for grandstand, pit passes are $45.00.
