TURPLE BATTLES FOR SECOND VICTORY OF SEASON AT PETTY INTERNATIONAL RACEWAY

(Moncton, NB - June 10, 2017) –Shawn Turple of Enfield, NS battled from the back of the field after being involved in an incident on lap 105 to take his second victory of the season on Saturday night at Petty International Raceway. Turple took the lead from Dylan Gosbee (Cornwall, PE) on the last lap of a Green-White-Checkered finish after an exciting race in front of a capacity crowd. Dylan Blenkhorn (Truro, NS) completed the podium after edging by Brudenell, PE’s Jonathan Hicken. Greg Proude (Springvale, PE) rounded out the top five.

Atlantic Tiltload Qualifying started off an exhilarating night of racing and saw Turple, Blenkhorn, Craig Slaunwhite (Terence Bay, NS) and George Koszkulics (New Glasgow, NS) take the top spots in their respective Heat Races. Of the five different race leaders through fourteen cautions, Slaunwhite took home the Linde Most Laps Led Award after leading 57 laps. Jarrett Butcher (Porter’s Lake, NS) was the recipient of the King Freight Lines Future Winners Award and the Exide Batteries Rookie of the Year Award with a seventh place finish.

The Parts for Trucks Pro Stock Tour heads to the high banks of Riverside International Speedway for the first time this season next Saturday, June 17th. The Ron MacGillivray Chev Buick GMC 150 will open the season for the track located in James River, NS just outside of Antigonish. Dylan Blenkhorn won the event last season and will look to repeat but hometown heroes George Koszkulics and former Series champ Donald Chisholm are always a threat at their home track. Atlantic Tiltload Heat Races are slated to get under at 6:00PM!
