Clark Victorious at Toromont Cat 250 at Scotia Speedworld

(Halifax, NS, August 11th, 2018) – Cassius Clark (Farmington, ME) picked up his fourth Toromont Cat 250 victory tonight at Scotia Speedworld, becoming the most decorated driver in the race’s 19 year history. In addition to winning over $14,000, Clark also takes home the coveted Scott Fraser Memorial Cup. Dylan Blenkhorn (Truro, NS) came on strong but didn’t have enough to catch Clark when the checkers flew. Shawn Turple (Enfield, NS) rounded out the podium with a solid third place finish. Cole Butcher (Porter’s Lake, NS) accepted the Atlantic Tiltload Pole Challenge and started at the rear of field but was able to race his way back to a fourth place finish. Kent Vincent (Crapaud, PE) had a great run coming home fifth.

Four Atlantic Tiltload Heat races determined the starting positions for the iconic race. John Flemming (Halifax, NS) won heat one which put the five-time Series champion in the pole position. Clark, Butcher and younger brother Jarrett (Porter’s Lake, NS) also won their respective heats. Elder Butcher also picked up the H&B Car Sales Halfway Award, while younger brother takes home the King Freight Lines Future Winner Award.

Blenkhorn gained 21 positions giving him H&B Car Sales Hard Charger Award. The Exide Batteries Rookie of the Race went to Waylon Farrell (Conception Bay South, NL) who finished 14th in his Toromont Cat 250 debut.
