HICKEN WINS CUMMINS 200 AT 54th RIVER GLADE INTERNATIONAL

(River Glade, NB- August 25, 2018) Jonthan Hicken (Brudenell, PE) picked up his ninth career victory in style tonight winning the River Glade International trophy in the Cummins 200 at Petty International Raceway. Prince Edward Island drivers filled the podium with Darren MacKinnon (Charlottetown, PE) coming home second after a close battle with Robbie MacEwen (Charlottetown, PE). Shawn Turple (Enfield, NS) and Dylan Blenkhorn (Truro, NS) rounded out the top five respectively in the 21 car field.  

Starting positions for the Cummins 200 were determined by Atlantic Tiltload Heat Races. Waylon Farrell (Conception Bay South, NL) picked up his first career pole position after finishing first in heat one. Jarrett Butcher (Porter’s Lake, NS) and Hicken also picked up victories in their respective heats.

Braden Langille (Shubenacadie, NS) received the Exide Batteries Rookie of the Race award with his ninth place finish. The King Freight Lines Future Winner Award, which goes to any driver in the field who has never won a Series race, was awarded to MacEwen.

Craig MacDonald (Waverley, NS) was first to the checkers in the 50 lap Maritime League of Legends feature. Cody Byrne (Orwell Cove, PE) was on top of the podium in the 50 lap East Cast Mini Stock Tour event and Sam Rogers (Lower Onslow, NS) won the 25 lap Bandolero race.

The Parts for Trucks Pro Stock Tour is off for the weekend but returns September 8th with the penultimate Lucas Oil 150 at Riverside International located just outside of Antigonish, NS. The Parts for Trucks Pro Stock Tour Season Finale takes place September 15th with the Dartmouth Dodge 200 at Scotia Speedworld.
