BUTCHER RETURNS TO VICTORY LANE AT IRVING BLENDING & PACKAGING 150

(Moncton, NB, July 21, 2018) – Cole Butcher (Porter’s Lake, NS) picked up his third win of season at the Irving Blending & Packaging 150 at Petty International Raceway. Butcher, the current point leader, battled Darren MacKinnon (Charlottetown, PE) for most of the 150 laps before a late race caution took out several of the top contenders. Dylan Gosbee (Cornwall, PE) stayed out of the fray and came home second just ahead of Craig Slaunwhite (Terence Bay, NS) who completed the podium. Kent Vincent (Crapaud, PE) had a great run and finished fourth followed by Shawn Turple (Enfield, NS) who rounded out the top five.

Three Atlantic Tiltload Heat Races determined the starting order for the Irving Blending & Packaging 150. Turple, Braden Langille (Shubenacadie, NS) and Slaunwhite were first under the checkers in their respective qualifiers. Langille picks up the Exide Batteries Rookie of the Race for the second week in a row while Terry Dougay (Albany, PE) takes home the King Freight Future Winners Award.

Prior to the Irving Blending & Packaging 150 the Leisure Days RV Bandoleros, A.E. MacKay Builders Late Models and Maritime League of Legends put on some great racing for the capacity crowd at Petty International. Sam Rogers (Lower Onslow, NS) won the 20 lap Bandolero feature. Brady Creamer (Miramichi, NB) was on top of the podium in the 50 lap Late Model race while Craig MacDonald (Waverly, NS) took the victory for the Maritime League of Legends.
