Cole Butcher Victorious in Cummins 150 at Scotia Speedworld
(Halifax, NS – August 14, 2021) Cole Butcher (Hantsport, NS) picked up his third win of the season at the Cummins 150 Saturday night at Scotia Speedworld. Craig Slaunwhite (Terence Bay, NS) continued his consecutive podium streak coming home second after battling hard the final laps with Dylan Blenkhorn (Truro, NS) who had to settle for third.
Ashton Tucker (Lyttleton, NB) had another great showing finishing just shy of the podium in fourth, followed by Greg Proude (Springvale, PE) who rounded out the top five. The race marked round four of nine for the East Coast International Pro Stock Tour.
Cole Butcher, Blenkhorn, and Nicholas Naugle (Dartmouth, NS) won their Atlantic Tiltload heat races which set the field for the Cummins 150. Ashton Tucker took home the Kenny U Pull Hard Charger award. The race was slowed by ten cautions and saw 12 lead changes.
The Fleet Brake Atlantic Bandolero cars raced last night in the CARSTAR Weekly Racing Series and returned to the track today for an opening slot with the East Coast International Pro Stock Tour. Ayden Christensen (Windsor Junction, NS) took the checkered flag in the 15-lap feature followed by Dawson Noble (Nine Mile River, NS) and Chase MacKay (Dartmouth, NS).
The Hot Rod Classics Vintage Race Car Series was also on the racing card and entertained fans in a 25-lap feature. The 12-car field provided lots of vintage action prior to the Cummins 150 main feature.
Next up for the East Coast International Pro Stock Tour is the Nova Truck Centres 150 tomorrow at 2:00pm. Grandstand gates open at 11:00am. Adult tickets are $30.00, youth (under 15 years) are $10.00. There will be a quantity of tickets available at the gates, pink and blue sections only.
