Slaunwhite Wins Nova Truck Centres Make A Wish 150 at Scotia Speedworld
(Halifax, NS – August 15, 2021) After three second and one third place finishes this season Craig Slaunwhite (Terence Bay, NS) finally picked up his first win of 2021 at the Nova Truck Centres 150 this afternoon at a blistering Scotia Speedworld. Slaunwhite had to contend with Jarrett Butcher (Porter’s Lake, NS) who was hot on his heels the entire race. Butcher did earn his first podium finish of the year with his second-place finish. Ashton Tucker (Lyttleton, NB) improved on his fourth-place finish yesterday and found himself on the final spot on the podium. Cole Butcher (Hantsport, NS) continued his great season coming home fourth, followed by Ryan Messer (Harvey, NB) in fifth. The race marked round five of nine for the East Coast International Pro Stock Tour.
Waylon Farrell (Conception Bay South, NL), Cole Butcher and Slaunwhite won their Atlantic Tiltload heat races which set the field for the Nova Truck Centres 150. Ashton Tucker took home the Kenny U Pull Hard Charger award. The race was slowed by four cautions and saw five lead changes.
The Toursec Thunder & Lightning cars were first on the track in a 25-lap feature. Jamie Dillman took the checkered flag first in the Lightning class, followed by Chad Sinton and Marshall Bezanson. Dave Matthews finished first in the Thunder class with Cody Byrne and Nic Baker second and third respectively.
Craig MacDonald (Waverly, NS) won the Maritime League of Legends Fleet Brake 50 which preceded the main event. Sam Rogers (Lower Onslow, NS) came home second followed by Colton Noble (Nine Mile River, NS) in third.
