Tucker Wins Irving Oil 150 at Petty International Raceway

(Moncton, NB – July 09, 2022) Ashton Tucker (Lyttleton, NB) won his first race of the 2022 season after beating Craig Slaunwhite (Terence Bay, NS) to the line in a photo-finish. Tucker battled door-to-door with the reigning champ and current point leader for the final four circuits after a re-start on lap 145. Darren MacKinnon (Charlottetown, PE) returned to victory lane with a third-place finish. Each Maritime province was represented on the podium this evening at the Irving Oil 150. John Rankin (St. Martin’s, NB) made his first start of the season and come home with a fourth-place finish. Russell Smith Jr (Lakeside, NS) drove his No. 88 to a fifth-place finish. Please note race results are currently unofficial.

Matt Vaughan (Bedford, NS), Nicholas Naugle (Dartmouth, NS) and Tucker won their respective Atlantic Tiltload heat races which set the field for the Irving Oil 150. Tucker also won the R&D Performancentre Most Laps Led award. Rankin was the Kenny U Pull Hard Charger, while Ryan VanOirschot (Antigonish, NS) took home the Fleet Brake Atlantic Lucky Dog award.

The Irving Oil 150 marked the half-way point of the 2022 East Coast International season. The race saw seven lead changes and was slowed by eight cautions.

The East Coast International Pro Stock Tour is off next weekend but returns to Riverside International Speedway on July 23 for the much-anticipated IWK 250. Ticket are on sale now at www.riversideSpeedway.ca and will be available at gates on race day.
