(Antigonish, NS – September 9, 2023) Greg Proude (Springvale, PE) returned to the East Coast International Pro Stock Tour in style, picking up the victory in the Modern Pumps & Metals 150. Proude took the lead on lap 96 but had to hold off many hard charging competitors for the win. Nicholas Naugle (Dartmouth, NS) was door to door with Proude coming off the final turn but had to settle for second. Austin MacDonald (Pictou, NS) kept his cool, despite his helmet blower shutting down during the race, to finish third. Jarrett Butcher (Porter’s Lake, NS) had another solid showing with a fourth-place finish. Chris Reid (Fort McMurray, AB) led the most laps on the day, taking home the R&D Performance Centre Most Laps award and a fifth-place finish.
Jordan Veinotte (Porter’s Lake, NS) and Naugle won their Atlantic Tiltload heat races which set the field for the Modern Pumps & Metals 150. Proude won the Kenny U Pull Hard Charger Award. Gary Elliott (Truro, NS) was the Fast Eddie Racewear Lucky Dog. Danny Chisholm (Port Williams, NS) was the rookie of the race.
The Dulux Paint Street Stocks competed in two 40 lap features prior to the main event. Dennis Nickerson (Marshy Hope, NS) had a stellar day, taking home the win in both features.
The Maritime Allstar Sportsman Series also did a great job of warming up the crowd. Deven Smith, Dylan Dowe and Cory Leonard were the top three finishers respectively.
The East Coast International Pro Stock Tour will be out of action the next couple of weeks as drivers and crews prepare for the final event of the season.
