Meetings Complete and Schedules Released!
It has been a busy couple of weeks for the Maritime Pro Stock Tour as everyone readies for the 2009 season. The drivers and crew members had their first opportunity to take a sneak peek at the upcoming season at three drivers meetings through the region at the beginning of the month, and one common thread ran through all the sessions — there is no shortage of optimism and excitement for '09!
The meetings were held in the three provinces that the Maritime Pro Stock Tour contests races in. Drivers and crews had the opportunity to meet with and ask questions to tour officials regarding rules, procedures and races for '09. The meetings are just the first step towards a successful upcoming season and with all the excitement shown, it is bound to be the best season yet!
Another piece of the '09 puzzle being released in the past few weeks has been the schedule of races for the upcoming Tour. Once again, five tracks will see action on the CARQUEST Maritime Pro Stock Tour including; Nova Scotia's Riverside International Speedway and Scotia Speedworld, the Centre for Speed and Speedway 660 in New Brunswick and Raceway Park in Prince Edward Island.
Key events this season include the ?Triple Crown?, which is comprised of three 250-lap events at Riverside International on July 18th, Scotia Speedworld on August 8th and Speedway 660 on September 6th. Extra prize money will be up for grabs for Tour regulars in these three race events along with points towards the season standings. The regular season will kick off at Scotia Speedworld on May 23rd and conclude at the 3/10th mile oval on September 12th with the annual Parts for Trucks 200 season finale!
Once again, the Tour would like to thank Razzy's Roadhouse in Sherwood, PEI along with the Future Inns at Moncton, NB and the Holiday Inn Express in Enfield, NS for their cooperation in hosting our 2009 Rules Meetings and should you find yourself in any of these communities in the coming months do stop by and say hi!
In the coming weeks, we will be talking to drivers about the upcoming season as well as previewing the events and races for the 2009 CARQUEST Maritime Pro Stock Tour. If you have any news, questions or comments, email tim@timterryonline.com
