CARQUEST Pro Stock Tour Heading to the High Banks of Riverside

(Halifax, NS, June 14, 2010) The CARQUEST Pro Stock Tour will make its second attempt to get the 2010 season underway this Saturday, June 19th at Riverside International Speedway, located in James River, NS. Rain postponed the season opener in Halifax on June 5th. Fans, drivers and organizers alike are all anxiously awaiting the first green flag of the season at The Ron MacGillivray Chev Buick GMC 100. Atlantic Tiltload Time Trials will run at 5:10 pm, with the green flag set to drop at approximately 6:00 pm. Gates open at 1:00 pm.

Over 25 of the Maritimes best stock car drivers will attempt to qualify at the 1/3 mile, high banked oval; including local favorites Donald Chisholm and George Koszkulics. Both Chisholm and Koszkulics will have to battle some heavy hitters in order to bring home the checkers at the Ron MacGillivray Chev Buick GMC 100. Expected entries include Shawn Tucker of Fredericton, NB who has won this event for the last two consecutive seasons. Prince Edward Island’s Kent Vincent will also be one to watch, as he holds the track record set in 2008 during time trials, with a blistering speed of over 100 mph.

The June 19th event will also feature the Napa Super Sportsman Series, who will race a 50 lap feature prior to the Ron MacGillivray Chev Buick GMC 100.

Advance tickets for the Ron MacGillivray Chev Buick GMC 100 are now available through Riverside's in-house box office ticket system. Reserved stadium seating is $35.00 for adults. Reserved bleacher bench seating is $30.00 for adults, $12 for youth 16 and under. General admission seating is $25 for adults, $8 for youth. Admission for children 7 and under is free.
